December 5th,2018 — On the First of December Perrywinkle’s Fine Jewelry presented the inaugural Queen City Ball; a black tie benefit for RMHC Burlington. The event was a sold out affair, and entertained guests with food, drink, fabulous music and the opportunity to come home with a little sparkle!
Perrywinkle’s title sponsorship ensured the event was full of glitz and glam. Party goers were given the opportunity to purchase a glass of champagne for $100, which was won by a very rightful recipient, a mother who recently used a Ronald McDonald House. Here is her story:
In July of 2017, my son was diagnosed with a rare cancer and was sent to MGH Boston for 8 weeks of treatment. If it wasn’t for RMHC I would never have been able to be with him everyday throughout his treatment. You made it possible for us to more than comfortably “live” normally together, surrounded by wonderful people who gave us support and hope. There is no way I could ever repay that, but your Ball was a way for me to scratch the surface. I had friends who also attended the Ball to support RMHC and my family. We all bought the Diamond Champagne raffle and bid on silent auction items. Two of us went home with beautiful pieces [from Perrywinkle’s]!
When her number was drawn and called she was “a little dazed and confused by that, I felt shocked, overwhelmed, humbled and very emotional. I never gave a thought to actually winning [THE diamond!]. Was it meant to be after the year we’ve had? Maybe.
The event grossed nearly $50,000, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Burlington is thrilled to announce Perrywinkle’s has generously offered to host the event again in 2019!
