It’s that time of year again! Ronald McDonald House Charities of Burlington is proud to announce the 7th annual Jingle Bell Express is coming to town this November 30th and December 1st!
This absolutely magical weekend is made possible by our volunteers! We are actively seeking volunteers for one or both days as well as some projects leading up to the event! Dress in your best holiday colors/costumes and have fun assisting
guests with lining up at the proper train car, answer questions, remind
guests there is no bathroom on the train 😊
etc… *NEW* We’ll need our crowd control volunteers to line the bike path from the station to Perkins Pier, where our guests will be parking this year! | Ideal volunteer: Someone comfortable talking with patrons, enjoy people, will be grinning from ear-to-ear as we load and unload the train cars |
| Ticket Taker | Check and collect ticket stub from each guest to ensure they are loading onto the correct car | Ideal volunteer:*Think Tom Hanks in Polar Express* |
| Car Captain + Car Elf *Please note all day participation is required for these roles* | Take charge of your car! You and your car elf will ensure guests are greeted as they board, help with seating, pass out treats and goodie bags, sing carols and be all around awesome spirit makers! You will be responsible for playing the music via speaker to go along with the song book all the guests will receive. Either Car Captain or Car Elf on each car must have access to a smart phone, a Spotify Premium account and having your own speaker is a HUGE help! | Ideal volunteer: Car Captain is best paired with Car Elf if families, friends or groups want to all work together over the course of the weekend’s rides! We are looking for high energy, carol-singin’, cookie-lovin’ leaders! |
| Character Actor | Wear a costume (provided), interact with guests, pose for photos, rock your character! | Ideal volunteer: Someone who loves kids, high fives and spreading joy! |
| Character Helper | Do you realize how big Donald Ducks head is? Our characters often need help navigating through the busy train and throughout the cars. | Ideal volunteer: Someone who loves all of the above, but doesn’t want to get in a costume. Character and helper is great for a pair of friends! |
| Clean Up Crew | Our clean up crew is SUCH an important role! Clean up cars, wipe tables, tidy storage areas (Saturday only), off load everything and into your own vehicle and bring back to RMHC (Sunday only) | Ideal volunteers: Groups: businesses, boy scouts/girl scouts with leaders, families, etc… |
| Station Elf/Runner | It is super helpful to have a few leaders at the station to keep a close watch on inventory of items and help to quickly restock the trains in between rides! | Ideal volunteer: Organized, quick thinker, stamina to lift and move heavy boxes/goodie bags/whatever else may come up! |
